![]() ![]() It's a rather short VN where you need to sniff out who's good out of five candidates. This can actually be a good strategy for beating enemies - send in someone on the brink of going nutso, wait for the guy to get shot, and watch him drop everything on the map. Basically, if a character uses their powers too much, they start attacking everything in sight with a full health restore, a damage buff, and a defense debuff. I would also like to point out that I love the Berserk mechanic in this game I can't think of any other game that uses a Berserk status like this. Then you tell everyone to vote out the suspect. It's pretty easy to figure out the people to vote out if you know what you're doing - it takes some set arithmetic to nail down the suspects to three people, and then you just vision the three and figure out who to take out. Lost Dimension is a straightforward RPG where you start off with all your party members, and you have to bump off a party member to proceed through each chapter. The creators of Gnosia actually consulted the creators of RL for advice on how to make Gnosia, in fact, so I think that's a pretty big endorsement! Raging Loop: Haven't played this myself and don't know much about it, but from what I understand the premise is similar to Gnosia in that it's a Werewolf-styled game featuring time loops. It also tends to have the story broken up into small chunks between gameplay, and with the way the game works you can choose to check out more story first or more gameplay if you've gotten a little burnt out on one of them. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim - Someone else mentioned it and I can't speak of it because my only experience with it has been reading an LP of it and not even being caught up on it, but it's really neat and has the same sort of energy of being tossed into something strange and having to piece together the whole story by learning about the cast. It's something that could be completed in under an hour, if even. The puzzle gameplay is fun and there's still an interesting story despite not being super wordy. A very short, free game that's worth checking out. YTTD has more of a balance between reading and gameplay (it's an adventure game with various minigames of different genres throughout as well as a debate portion), and it also happens to be free! You can even just play it in your browser without having to download anything! The main caveat, however, is that it's released in chapters and the final one hasn't come out yet. Agreeing with the suggestions for Danganronpa, the Zero Escape trilogy, and Your Turn To Die! DR is great if you like the specific sort of gameplay about debating to sus out an antagonist (though it's entirely linear) and ZE is great if you like the plot and time elements (and escape rooms!), but be aware that those two games are waaaaay wordier than Gnosia is!
